New Moon Sister Circle - Red Tent Gathering.
What to expect from the Sister Circle - Red Tent Gathering?
Welcome sister to a group of women who come together and sit in circle around the time of the New Moon each month.
The tradition dates back to when women would have been demonised and ostracised from their society during the time of their menstruation, and sent away to the village ‘Red Tent’
Whilst there for that time, with other women, stories would be told, experiences shared and a sense of sisterhood developed
.
At the Red Tent Gathering, we honour the women who have gone before us, the women of today and those of the future, by preserving the sense of sisterhood, friendship and shared support that would have been found in the ‘Red Tent’.
Quite simply, we are women who come together, to support, empower and share experiences with other women, with an open heart, and an open mind. We connect with one another, we support one another, we nourish one another and we hold space for those who need it.
The Gathering is held in the sanctuary of The Snug Wellbeing. The space is held as sacred and I work hard to cleanse and protect the energetic vibration of the space so that it feels like a calm and healing space for all who need it.
We begin each gathering with a few words to honour women, and the lighting of candles. Each month has a theme, that is representative of the characteristics of the Star Sign under which that months Full Moon falls. We consider this in reflection of our own experiences, and draw upon knowledge of holistic approaches which incorporates meditation, mindfulness, crystals and chakras, among other things.
Every woman has the chance to contribute to the conversation if she wishes, or simply ‘be’ knowing that space will be held for her.
We close each gathering with a short guided meditation around the theme of the month. Light refreshments are offered.
The Sister Circle is hosted at The Snug Wellbeing Studio at Flow Women’s Wellbeing.
